Against the backdrop of economic hardship rocking the country, the presiding pastor of Millenium Christian Ministry Lokoja, Kogi State, Pastor Ayo Adun, has enjoined Nigerians not to lose hope but to have faith in God for solutions to their problems.

In a programme organised by the ministry tagged “A Night of Hope” holding at the Amusement Park in Lokoja, the man of God noted that the people were being confronted on a daily basis with problems and challenges in their  lives. He stressed that it is only absolute faith in God that can reconnect them to their destinies.

He lamented the abject poverty ravaging the society which has made people to loose hope in their country and advised them to rely totally on God for a change to their conditions.

Pastor Adun stated that whenever people are being battered and many things are working against them, the only solution left for them is to turn to the almighty God who alone has the power to reconnect them to their goals.

According to him, the Church has become the last hope of the hopeless and enjoined the church to preach hope to their followers to bring them  back to the society.

“There is so much despondency and despair in the land and people are loosing hope in God, in Church, in Government, and in fact, in everything.

“This is the time for the Church, as the light of the world, to reintegrate the people to the society. What is left for the people is to teach them hope that things are going to be better.

“There is confusion everywhere and people are asking that does God answers prayers any more. This programme is put together to create a platform for the people to have relief materials no matter how small. And I know they will ask that it is still possible for free food in this kind of our economy. Who ever that comes here will have something to pick,” he assured.

The clergyman challenged the government at all levels to partner with other platforms, either moral or spiritual as a vehicle to deliver their messages and programmes to the people, adding that the Church has remained a force in rekindling the hope of the downtrodden.

While asking for absolute dependency on God, he noted that as long as there are challenges and problems  facing the people, Churches are going to proliferate to give hope to the people just as the proliferation of hospitals has not  stopped people from dying, so also is the proliferation of church will not eliminate sins.

“If hope dies, people will begin to keep away from God and begin to look for other things. Let the people hold on to their God, for if you take their faith from God they will shift to crimes, armed robberies and kidnappings. It is our mission to bring the people the word of hope,” he declared.
