Pre-season: Henry Ameh Hails Kogi United’s Performance

Team Manager of Nigeria National League side, Kogi United FC, Ameh Henry has described the team’s pre-season tour as successful as it has make their preparation for the 2013/2014 season be in good stead.

Kogi United embarked on a 6-day training trip to Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State and Ekiti State where they played 5 friendly matches.

Their first game at the tour was a goaless draw against Prime FC, Osogbo, a 1-1 draw with Crown FC, Ogbomoso and 6-0 thrashing of Lazio Football Academy, Lagos.

The team under Coach Fatai Osho  lost its first match of the pre-season when they suffer a 3-0 defeat to Sunshine Stars of Akure, and they wrap the trip up with 1-0 defeat from NNL side, Ekiti Utd FC at Ado-Ekiti.

Henry, noted that the trip, which was first in club’s history will really help them in making amends ahead of the upcoming season.

“This a huge success for us as a team. The triphas geatly exposed us to what we are about to face in the league,” Henry begins.

“You will also note that, in history of the club, this is the first time Kogi Utd will embrak on pre-season trip, and it is what we are happy about”.

“We must thank the State Government for giving us the chance like this as it has make us to prepare like any other professional club. We will pick it up from there when we get back home.”

Chief Coach of the Wada Boys, Fatai Osho expressed satisfaction from what he got from his players, adding that the team is improving with games.

He commended the club’s management for level playing ground given his technical crew, even as he promised to make the team a force to reckon with in the league.

Kogi United has so far played a total of 17 matches, winning 12 drew three and losing two in their preparedness for the new NNL season.

They will begin a new life under Coach Fatai Osho in the National League with a home game against Ranchers Bees FC, Kaduna on January 25, 2014.
