I always think the most wonderful gift we have is the Human mind, the brain if you may call it. In our culture we sometimes use the words brain and mind interchangeably even though they really do refer to separate, although often overlapping, concepts. The brain is an organ but the mind isn’t.
Most people think of the brain and the mind as being one and the same thing. Doctors, scientists and other highly trained persons share this belief. People from all walks of life use the words Brain and Mind interchangeably.
The mind vs. brain debate has been going on since before Aristotle. He and Plato argued that the soul housed intelligence or wisdom and that it could not be placed within the physical body.
In a well-described version of dualism, Descartes identifies mind with the consciousness and self-awareness of itself, with an ability to distinguish itself from the brain, but still called the brain the seat of intelligence.
The mind is the manifestations of thought, perception, emotion, determination, memory and imagination that takes place within the brain. Mind is often used to refer especially to the thought processes of reason. The mind is the awareness of consciousness we know, the ability to control what we do, and know what we are doing and why. It is the ability to understand.
Animal are able to interpret their environments, but not understand them. whereas human are able to understand what happens around them, even if not the scientific reasoning for it, and therefore adapt. So its safe to assume that animals have brains like humans but they do not possess Mind of their own like we do.
I think its amazing how the mind works, how it believes, how it conceive and most intriguing is how it achieves what has been conceived. I just think its amazing how people think.
Some people way of thinking is amazing in such a way their ideologies makes perfect sense and logical but at the same time rejected because it cant be accepted.
Use your brain, it can never get filled up except you rather leave it dormant. This world is full of knowledge, we should seek them out, we should occupy our minds and brains with issues beneficial to humanity.
Its amazing how one mans thought process could give rise to school of thoughts with thousands to millions of followers.. Too amazing. It is more like thinkers understands life better, they see with their minds, read deep meaning of things we cant even see with our eyes open.
Someone once asked me where is the mind located in the body, I couldn’t answer that. But it made me realize something that have helped me alot. I realized the mind is humans strongest weapon and weakest point.
In reality, they are two separate and distinct creations. The brain is a biochemical organ, a part of the human body. The mind, on the other hand, is a psychic organ that is attached to the human soul. Both the soul and the mind are connected to the Creator and the heavenly realms.
The believing men and women call it faith, but i will will call it the POWER OF THE MIND. Faith is the head chemist of the mind instantly picks up the vibrations, translates it into spiritual equivalent, and transmits it to infinite Intelligence, as in the case of prayer.
There are millions of people who believes themselves “doomed” to poverty and failure, because of some strange force which they believe they have no control. They are the creators of their “misfortunes”, because of this negative belief, which is picked up by the subconscious mind, and translated into its physical equivalent.
Everything starts and ends in our mind, the brain is only a host in which our mind resides. Our resolve to issues is paramount, if i have the power to change your mind, well, perhaps then i can change the world. That goes a long way to show us how religion came about.
Additional benefit is that the power of the mind becomes greater. Many enlightened individuals use this enhanced power in a very positive way. The ability to manifest or create beneficial things in one’s life increases. You develop the potential to direct or control more of your own life and your own destiny. Think of this example: Consider your life as a ship upon the sea of destiny. Instead of being a person aboard a wind tossed ship on a rough sea, you are a captain and pilot directing your ship to your desired destination.
Like they say anything the mind can concieve and believe it can achieve it. The mind has no known location in our body and yet it controls us. But i do believe the mind is powerful and if we as human can control our mind then we can control the world.
As to the question of “where is the mind?”
Let me put it this way, a computer requires hardware to perform its function. And the hardware need software to make it run. Without software, hardware would be useless and without hardware, software can not be used. Brain is like the hardware and mind is like the software. But in reality, the difference between brain mind are more complicated than software and hardware.
