Ahead of next Saturday’s State House of Assembly election, Abidemi Olalekan – an independent public analyst – in response to popular agitation against the aspiration of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Honourable Eric Fiki, spoke with opinion moulders across the ten wards of Mopamuro and came up with sixteen (16) strong sins of Eric Fiki.

  1. From 1999 up till date, Eric Fiki has held political positions at the detriment of Amuro people
  2. Eric Fiki has completely suppressed the elite of Amuro community to the extent that no Amuro elite dare to aspire for elective position
  3. Since 1999 till date, Eric Fiki has not embarked on any empowerment programme except that of four months ago that was wholly sponsored by the Deputy Governor, Arc Yomi Awoniyi
  4. Eric Fiki cannot point to anybody in Mopamuro LGA that he has touched his/her life apart from Mr Emmanuel Luke, whom he gave a rickety Pathfinder to.
  5. Eric Fiki frustrated the completion of Effo-Amuro – Takete Ide – Otafun road which was awarded by Ex-governor Ibrahim Idris’ administration for over N1 billion.
  6. In Takete-Ide, where Eric Fiki comes from, he has not sunk or influenced the sinking of bore-hole, either hand-pump or motorized.
  7. It is common knowledge that between 1999 and 2003, when Eric Fiki was a member of Kogi State House of Assembly on PDP platform, he was a ready tool in the hand of the ruling ANPP to the extent that other PDP legislators ostracized him.
  8. Eric Fiki is a political prostitute who betrays persons and party with ease. It is his character to jettison previous administrations to find relevance in any sitting government. In 1999, though as a PDP legislator, Eric Fiki dined and wined with incumbent Prince Abubakar Audu’s ANPP administration. Immediately Audu lost in 2003, Fiki abandoned him and cornered the new governor Ibrahim Idris. In 2012, Fiki was supporting Isah Kutepa but abandoned him immediately he lost PDP primaries to incumbent Governor Idris Wada. Eric Fiki is indeed a nomadic politician.
  9. Hitherto, the leadership of Mopamuro LG which was painstakingly put together by the likes of Late Chief S.B. Awoniyi, Late Chief S.B. Daniyan and Chief Samuel Ola Akande is now in tatters courtesy of Eric Fiki who has moved from one leader to another, blackmailing and running down the leadership.
  10. Eric Fiki’s support for Senator Smart Adeyemi in the last National Assembly elections was premised on financial benefits as against other considerations.
  11. It is common knowledge that Eric Fiki had told some persons that he will prostrate and beg for a period of two months to be elected into House of Assembly but after election Mopamuro people will suffer and groan for four years
  12. Up till the point of his disengagement from government, Eric Fiki had boasted of his closeness to the Governor, whereas, information has revealed that he was only dropping name.
  13. Since 1999 up till date, there is nothing visible that can be pointed to as Eric Fiki’s achievements in Mopa community, ditto Amuro axis.
  14. The antagonism of the privileged Amuro people to Eric Fiki’s ambition is premised on the fact garnered over the years that he has short-changed them and this has accounted for their hostile disposition to his greedy ambition. It is no wonder that there is no single privileged Amuro person that is anchoring his programme.
  15. It is a known fact that he has failed and refused to properly disburse the N4million financial support fund from the state government for Mopamuro. Evidence have it that he diverted the said sum to fund renovation of his personal house in GRA, Lokoja.
  16. Between 1999 and 2003, when Eric Fiki was in the State House of Assembly, he was not known to have sponsored a single bll or partake in any debate that will add value to the state.
