In the 90s, the government then argued that the price of a litre of petrol was higher than that of a bottle of coke. So the need to increase the price.

Today the cost of a bottled coke is less than #100. So what justification do they want to give to their daily increase of petrol. Today it is 212.60 per litre.

During my days as economics student till my entire teaching years, I read and taught that Bad Government is a factor of underdevelopment. I must confess, I did not know the full impact of my teaching. Seriously, with the various salaries paid across the states, one will clearly know that the ordinary people are in trouble.

Sadly enough, senators earning over #13000000 a month are bold enough to raise a bill to move minimum wage to concurrent list, making it possible for states to pay any amount they like to workers. Sadly too, the NLC watched till it went to second reading before raising eyebrows.

Graduates are paid as low as #10000 per month. In some states teachers are paid any percentage of salary. How do these politicians reason? Governors, commissioners etc are paid heavily. They spend lavishly. Why has workers or poor masses interest become irrelevant issue before them.

NEPA is not less than a month, children school fees, gari is #450 per mudu, house rents, medical bills for parents and kids, all upon #15000 per month!

Now, a litre is #212.6, the multiplier effects on poor masses are grave.
I am confused. May God help the poor.
