It was a gathering of Creme da Creme in the society, roll calls of who is who that defied the all day long rains, as political activist, Austin Usman Okai took his heartthrob, Fedoje Bridget to the altar.
It all started with the soleminzation of the holy matrimony at the Catholic Church of Assumption in Asokoro, in the heart of Abuja.
Comrade Okai’s joy knew no bound as the wedding proposed to be low keyed in spite of the heavy down pour turned to a society wedding attracting who is who in Kogi state and Nigeria at large.
The newest couple in town was ushered into a tumultuous reception arena at BMO event centre directly opposite Abia House to the admiration of all and sundry.
At the reception, dignitaries at the occasion include two former governors of Kogi state; Captain Idris Wada and Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, former service chiefs and their representatives, serving and former senators including Senators Atai Aidoko and Yahaya Ugbane.
Serving and former Ambassadors, members of House of Representatives and state lawmakers lined up to honour the social crusader.
Other dignitaries at the occasion include youth leaders, youth activists, notable events movers and shakers in Nigeria that held the reception for over six hours in defiance of the rain.
At the event, former governor Ibrahim Idris described Comrade Austin Okai as a level headed son whose heights in life is worth guiding jealously with a view to attaining his objectives and realising his potential of leadership.
He saluted the courage of the social crusader and all the attendant circumstances attached his activities, saying it is always not easy to play a leading role in the course of humanity.
“The young lad is a true born leader,” the ex-governor affirmed.
