In what looks like a revenge mission, a man in his mid-fifties, Alh. Bello Sheidu, was gunned down in a bizarre manner by yet-to-be-identified gun-men, while he was relaxing in front of his family house at Idare-Okene.

The attack which happened in broad daylight, sent neighbours and passers-by scampering into safety to avoid the possible wrath of the unmasked gunmen, who they feared could take offence that their identities were being taken.

The victim, who was well known to be a self-styled police informant, was alleged to be in the habit of engaging in constant disagreement with people, as well as using his connection with the police to intimidate, arrest and cause the detention of those who disagreed with him.

Sources disclosed further that the victim, late Alh. Bello Sheidu, escaped a similar attack few months ago, during which his house was touched and his car vandalised by a suspected militant group.

The deceased-informant, who was alleged to have had a hand in the incarceration of some people in recent time, was said to have continued to hunt those he suspected to have had a hand in his first attack before he was killed and his re-furbished car set ablaze by his assailants.

The deceased, it was learnt, had been under constant threats.

The theory that is being worked upon as being responsible for his death, might not be unconnected to some recent arrests in Ebiraland, in which, it is believed that he had a hand.
