Barely eight hours after the arrest of two suspected killers of Ojo Enesi on Saturday, the Kogi State Police Command has released the suspects on the alleged order of Governor Yahaya Bello.
Ismaila Kashim aka Kamuche and Suleiman Lawal aka Director were arrested by police at the early hours of Saturday in connection with the murder of Enesi Ojo, one of the supporters of Kogi Central SDP senatorial candidate, Natasha Akpoti. Enesi was killed on 11th January.
A source at Kogi State Police Headquarters disclosed that the suspects had earlier confessed to be working for Okehi local government Administrator, Hon. Abdulraheem Ohiare and revealed that they are part of the thugs that launched attack on the supporters of Natasha and involved in the killing of the Mr. Enesi before an order from the governor came to the police to release them.
The source disclosed that Kamuche and Director from Ihima are known thugs of Okehi local government Administrator who had benefited cars and bikes from the Administrator which they use in their operations within Ihima axis of Okehi LGA.
Reacting to the release of the suspected killers, Kogi State Commissioner of police, Hakeem Busari, said ” they are they are still investigating”.
