The candle is blown out, the lights are out, the pen is down, your silence is our loss, your absence is our pain, on valiant and gallant soldier down in the battlefield, one that equates with battalions, a fighter whose life was the fight, a success that measured his in the success of others, a talent who saw his gift as a gift to a people, an intellect who amplified the voice of the meek and was a voice for the voiceless, a terror to tyranny, a critic of mediocrity.
Death is known as a brutal silencer, but this time, it has lost because your words, the satires, your energy, the urgency, your effrontery, the cause you lived, fought and died for will keep ringing loud.
You will live on, not in the shadow, nor as a shadow, not just in memoriam, but as a memorial, not just in our memories, but in our realities.
We will keep your candidness vivid and the intensity of your candour shall live. The values you fought for ensures we will never make light of your fight. That you gave everything for the cause must keep us on course.
We can fit in your shoes, but we can walk your path, in our pain we may not know where to start, but we must find the strength to do our part. Only then would you commend the effort….. when meek are heard, the voiceless find their voice, that their lives are worth living, our elites exchange their selfishness for selflessness, their superiority for responsibility and their avarice for service because this was your book, your work, your sermon, your life.
You lived it for us and gave it for us. You’re a star and your brightness will lead us on.
