The SDP senatorial candidates for Kogi Central in the last National Assembly elections, Barr. Natasha Akpoti on Sunday described the death of Kogi born erudite Professor Pius Adesanmi as a great loss to the people of Kogi state and Nigeria at large.

Akpoti who said she was heartbroken by the death of Professor Adesanmi’s death said the erudite Professor inspired her with his words of encouragement during her campaign period where she suffered multiples of attacks from the agents of the state government, saying Kogi state and Nigeria has lost a voice.

She lamented that she never had the chance to tell Prof. Adesanmi that she was robbed off her victory and now heading to the tribunal.

Akpoti added that, “I promise to reclaim our stolen mandate for you, for us, and most particularly the Nigerian girl, so she would know that her country has a place for her dreams. Rest In Peace sir”, she said.

Until his death in a crash of Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302 on March 10, Pius Adesanmi was a Nigerian-born Canadian professor, writer and literary critic, satirist, and columnist. He is the author of Naija No Dey Carry Last, a collection of satirical essays.
