The legitimacy crisis rocking the selection of Mr. Abdulhameed Momoh as Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for February 28 election in Okene I took a new dimension today when a group confirmed to Kogireports that Abdulhameed is not from the constituency.

The group, Concerned Okene I PDP Elders, made this exclusive disclosure to Kogireports today.

Spokesperson for the group, Mallam Abdulrasheed Abdullahi asserted that the PDP aspirant Abdulhameed Momoh is legally from Okene II constituency and not from Okene I. He backed up his claims with valid Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) document that shows that Abdulhameed Momoh, aged 41 registered in his legal unit which is LGEA Primary School, Odenku in Upogoro/Odenku ward in Okene II constituency. Abdulrasheed wondered why the purported candidate, Abdulhameed Momoh, will lie under oath in his submission to INEC (evidence attached) that he is from Okene I. A copy of the INEC nomination form filled by Abdulhameed Momoh was made available to Kogireports.

Aside the illegality in the choice of Abduhameed Momoh, the group warned the party of the electoral threat posed by the candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), who they claim is the son of the late political leader in Ebiraland, Senator A.T. Ahmed. They urged the leadership of PDP to move swiftly and make necessary amends that will guarantee the party success in the February polls.
