A body known as PDP Professionals and Business Group has been charged to take advantage of their wealth of experience in their fields of endeavour to mobilise support for People’s Democratic Party (PDP), in the forthcoming general elections.
Mrs Halima Wada made this remark in her office during a courtesy visit and decoration as the grand matron of the body in her office in Lokoja.
The wife of the governor requested the group to deploy their wealth of experience for the success of the party at all levels in line with the tenets of the body.
She said, the party had invested heavily in human development, political stability and critical infrastructure, at all levels of governance.
Mrs Halima Ladi Wada commended the new body for bringing all shades of professionals, business group, including contractors together in order to ensure provision of more dividends of democracy.
Earlier, the state coordinator and commissioner for Health, Kogi State, Dr Idris Omede stated that the objective of the body was to serve as component and catalyst to the continuous growth and development of the party.
He said that the body was determined to ensure the victory of the party in the forthcoming elections, commending the state governor, for his consistent support for the new group.
Mrs Abu Aisha Ali, Kogi state coordinator, Wada amazons and state women leader of the body, restated the commitment of the body to complement the efforts of the party, in its bid to win the next election.
She said, the wife of the governor, was chosen for the honour, particularly because of her life touching activities and political mobilization of women in the state.
The wife of the governor was presented with a plaque and a letter of appointment as the grand matron of the Kogi state chapter of the National PDP Professionals and Business Group.
