The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) caucus leaders of Okpakpata community in Igalamela/Odolu Local Government Area have commended the Chairman of the Local Government, Comrade Zakito Umar for the construction of triple complementary Okpakpata/Okpo-Iyokolo bridges.
Leader of the team, Elder Godwin Ikani gave the commendation when he led other members of the caucus on a solidarity visit to the Chairman in his office.
He described the construction of the bridge as an age long yearning and aspiration of the people right from when they were in the then Idah Local Government Area, pointing out that the construction of the bridge was an indication that the Zakito led administration has great concern for the plight of the rural dwellers.
Elder Ikani further stated that the construction of the bridge would go along way to boost socio-economic activities in the area as it would pave way for easy transportation of goods and services.
He also commended the good working relationship between him and the member representing Igalamela/Odolu constituency at the Kogi State House of Assembly Elder Paul Friday Sani, which he said was responsible for the spread of developmental projects to the nooks and crannies of the Local Government Area.
Responding, the Chairman of the Local Government, Comrade Zakito Umar thanked the PDP leaders for the visit and also for appreciating his modest contribution to the development of the rural areas where over 80 percent of the Nigerian populace dwells.
He therefore urged the leaders to continue to remain supportive of the Captain Wada led administration of Kogi State, so as to enable them continue to enjoy the benefit of his transformational agenda.
