The Director General of Public Defender and Citizens Rights Commission (PDCRC), Barr. Idris Onogo Musa, has commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for flagging off over N500m cash transfer to boost schoolgirl enrollment in Kogi State.
Musa gave the commendation in Lokoja on Monday.
He also praised the Governor’s initiative, describing it as a strategic intervention aimed at promoting inclusive, quality, and safe education for girls in Kogi State.
The cash transfer program, which will disburse N40,000 to each of the 13,359 beneficiaries, is part of the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) project.
Barr Onogo also lauded the AGILE State Coordinator, Hon Tijani Oricha for his commitment to the responsibility saddled on him.

Onogo further noted that, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s leadership has garnered significant support from various stakeholders in Kogi State, making a strong case for his re-election bid come 2027.
“With Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s impressive track record of impactful initiatives, including the recent N500m cash transfer to boost schoolgirl enrollment, it’s clear that he’s earned the support of the people. Ododo’s impact makes 2027 re-election a walkover,” he said.
The Governor had emphasized that the AGILE-CCT is more than financial support, but a long-term investment in human capital development. He also acknowledged his predecessor, former Governor Yahaya Bello, for securing Kogi State’s inclusion in the World Bank-supported AGILE project.
