As Nigeria gears up for the 2027 general elections, some opposition politicians and their sympathizers have resorted to age old tactics, propaganda, blackmail, and unfounded accusations. They unleash mischievous press statements and engage in needless disputes, all aimed at undermining President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s reform agenda and distracting the nation.
Today’s Nigerians are wiser. After enduring decades of deception and ineffective leadership, they can discern between constructive criticism and baseless attacks. As a result, the desperate ploys of cheap political propaganda are failing to gain traction. Nigerians remain unmoved.
President Tinubu’s administration is implementing bold reforms that many predecessors lacked the courage to tackle. Initiatives such as the removal of the fraudulent fuel subsidy, the unification of exchange rates, and the revival of critical sectors, steel, power, and agriculture are empowering citizens by breaking the hold of entrenched corrupt interests.
Those now decrying these reforms do not stand for the people; rather, they are lamenting the loss of their own privileges. Their propaganda is not an act of patriotism but a manifestation of their pain. They are aggrieved because the flow of easy money has been curtailed.
The Nigerian populace is not blind; they see through the clouds of deliberate falsehood and blackmail. They are witnessing the construction of roads, railways, power projects, and a resurgence in industry. They observe reforms that are stabilizing the naira, attracting investment, and repositioning Nigeria in the global arena.
While propagandists may generate clamor in newspapers and across social media, the tangible realities affecting the lives of citizens speak far louder. True patriots recognize that short term discomfort is often the price of long term prosperity.
It is telling that many of President Tinubu’s most vocal critics are politicians who previously had their chance to lead but failed dismally. Some presided over states burdened with insecurity and unpaid salaries. Others benefited from subsidy fraud and manipulation of foreign exchange. Now, devoid of corrupt avenues, they seek to regain relevance through baseless claims and blackmail.
Nigerians are not swayed; they can differentiate between opportunistic noise and constructive engagement. They know who is genuinely working for the nation’s progress and who is posturing for personal gain in the lead up to 2027.
Patriotic citizens understand that reforms demand time and patience. They recognize that great nations are not constructed on the foundation of propaganda but rather through perseverance and effort. Nigerians desire solutions, not senseless distractions; they yearn for progress, not petty squabbles. Thus, the vast majority remain steadfast, unmoved by the falsehoods and desperate maneuvers of those attempting to thwart the nation’s revival.
President Tinubu is navigating a challenging yet crucial path. He is focusing on building, not bickering; reforming, not resorting to blackmail. And in their wisdom, Nigerians are resolutely supporting him.
History’s judgment will inevitably favor those who build nations over those who thrive on propaganda. Ultimately, those who resort to deceitful narratives and cheap political maneuvers will be relegated to the annals of forgotten history.
In contrast, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will be remembered as a leader who chose courage over comfort, reform over rhetoric, and nation building over propaganda.
Nigerians stand steadfast, focusing on the future. Come 2027, they will renew the mandate of their President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Ọmọ Ologo !
