The leadership of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adavi local government of Kogi state has commended the Council Chairman, Hon Joseph Omuya Salami, for ensuring progress of the party since his assumption of office.
Speaking during a formal visit to Council Chairman on Tuesday, the Chairman of the party in Adavi, Hon. Barnabas Oyibo, said Salami’s efforts has yielded positive results and victories at the polls.
Oyibo, who led the newly inaugurated local government party executives on the visit, appealed to the Council Chairman to sustain his good works for the ruling party.
He added that Salami is setting the pace for other local governments to follow.
“We shall continue to recognise your constitutional right as the leader of our party at the grassroots, as well as that of our mentor and leader, His Excellency, Alh. Yahaya Bello.
“We shall continue to count on your support as we pilot the affairs of this great party together,” Oyibo said.
Responding, the Council boss urged the newly inaugurated APC executives to carry everyone along in the party affairs for the progress of APC.
He added that collective efforts of all party members actually earned the victory and successes recorded by APC, hence the credit shouldn’t be for him alone.
“The structure of the ruling party in Adavi LG is our structure and it shall be properly monitored within the grassroots. No segment in APC, we are one big family under the leadership of His Excellency, Alh. Yahaya Bello, and I must stand to protect his interest and reciprocate the gesture he has bestowed on me.
“The decisions of the party are what will guarantee the success, therefore, major stakeholders shall be consulted before decisions are taken in Adavi APC,” the council boss said.
Hon Joseph Omuya further restated his readiness to continue to support the party and its executives.
He appealed to them to place party interest above every personal interest for unity and progress of the party.
“I also want to urge everyone to continue preaching the gospel of APC at the various wards so as to maintain its love and relevance at the grassroots.”
