Nigeria National League side Kogi United Football Club and Nigeria Women Premier League’s Confluence Queens Football Club have reached an agreement with Nigeria’s leading sportswear manufacturing company, OWU to become its official kit sponsor.
The kit sponsorship deal was confirmed in the statement made available to newsmen on Wednesday by Samuel Ahmadu, the Media Assistant to the Chairman of Kogi United and Confluence Queens FC, Mallam Abdul Adama on Wednesday.
At the contract signing ceremony in the government house, Lokoja, Mallam Adama described the secured kit sponsorship deal with OWU as a great step forward for football in Kogi state.

“We have signed a contract with OWU to provide three-set of kits for Kogi United and Confluence Queens for next season and this is in
fulfilment of our plans to restructure and re-position the state-owned clubs.
“We have started already to fulfil the Governor Idris Wada led administration’s resolved to reform sports in the state. It is the dream of his Excellency to have Kogi clubs among the best in the country; I believe we have started on the right path as this has never happened before,” the Kogi-born football administrator.
According to the statement, “The contract, which is the first of its kind in the history of Kogi State football, will reduce the burden of
kitting the teams as OWU will provide three sets for free.”
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO), OWU Sportswear, Barrister Tunji Brown while expressing delight on the signed kit partnership deal,
noted they are ready to give quality service to Kogi United and Confluence Queens next season.
“We are happy for the privilege to become the kit sponsor for Kogi United and Confluence Queens – Our passion is to kit every football
clubs in Nigeria – OWU desires a fruitful relationship with Kogi State in years to come,” he noted.
In a remark, the Special Adviser to the Kogi State Governor, Captain Idris Wada on Strategic Planning, Mr Dayo Akande described the
development as laudable, stressing that the partnership was in good interest of Captain Idris Wada’s quest to reform the sports sector of Kogi state.
Mr Akande who commended the CEO of OWU, Barrister Olatunji on collaboration with the state-owned clubs, hoped the partnership
remains a long-lasting bond.
OWU sportswear which was founded in 2005 started business as a foremost kit manufacturing company in Nigeria and is already the kits sponsors of Premier League teams like Shooting Stars FC, Lobi Stars FC, Abubakar Bukola Saraki FC and National League side MFM FC.
