Ovia Osese: Organizers Spices Up 2026 Festival with Dancing Challenge

The organizers of the Ovia Osese, the indigenous cultural festival of Ogori people in Kogi State, has unveiled different dancing competition for the 2026 festival.

‎The competition which carries prize tags is in three different categories: Danfo Driver Dance Challenge; Eregba Song and Dance And Okitoroko Challenge.

The method for entries for the competitions is as follows:

‎1. Danfo Driver Dance Challenge

‎The challenge: make a clear video of you dancing to the song “Danfo Driver” by Mad Melon and Mountain Black. Share the video on your own account using the hashtags #OviaOsese #LivingTheHeritage and tag the official ODU page. Make sure you are following the ODU Page.

‎Entry closes by 5 PM on Friday, April 10, 2026 and winner will be announced on Saturday April 11, 2026.

‎Prizes N50,000, N30,000 and N20,000 for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places respectively.

‎1. Eregba Song and Dance Challenge
‎The challenge: make a clear video of you singing and dancing to an Eregba song. Higher consideration will be given to an original composition. Post the video on your own account using the hashtags #OviaOsese #LivingThe Challenge and tag the official ODU page. Make sure you are following the ODU Page.

‎Entry closes by 5 PM on Monday, April 13, 2026 and winner will be announced on Tuesday April 14, 2026.

‎Prizes N50,000, N30,000 and N20,000 for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places respectively.

‎3. Okitoroko Challenge

‎The challenge: make a clear video of you playing the Okitoroko accompanied by the Okitoroko song. Post the video on your own account using the hashtags #OviaOsese #LivingThe Challenge and tag the official ODU page. Make sure you are following the ODU Page.

‎Entry closes by 5 PM on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 and winner will be announced on Thursday April 16, 2026.

‎Prizes N50,000, N30,000 and N20,000 for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places respectively.
