No less than one hundred members smiled home with cash gift as the Ogidi-Omo Movement celebrated its 20th anniversary in Ekinrin-Adde, Ijumu local government area of Kogi state, on Monday.
Founder of the movement, Hon. Funsho Olumoko, said the cash empowerment underscores the group’s unwavering commitment to uplifting its people and fostering a culture of support within the community.
He explained that the cash empowerment drive, ranging from ₦50,000 to ₦500,000 per member based on category, symbolized not only financial assistance but also a significant step towards empowering individuals and promoting economic growth within the community.
He emphasised on the importance of unity and development in Kogi State. reinforcing the organization’s role as a catalyst for positive change and progress.
Amidst the jubilation, Hon. Olumoko also made headlines by endorsing President Bola Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for the highly-anticipated 2027 elections.
Highlighting their exemplary performance and dedication to public service, Olumoko’s endorsement resonated strongly with traditional rulers, politicians, and party bigwigs who gathered to witness the celebration.
The colourful event saw the attendance of esteemed dignitaries such as Dr. Habibat Tijani Onumoko, the Accountant General of Kogi State; Prince Matthew Kolawole, former Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly; Hon. Haruna Ibrahim, Executive Chairman of Ijumu Local Government Area, and traditional leaders led by Oba William Ayeni, Olujumu of Ijumuland.
