On behalf of His Excellency Yahaya Bello and the good people of Yagba land, I congratulate you for emerging as the third Vice Chancellor of the Federal University, Lokoja.
I wish to equally congratulate the Historical community in Nigeria for having one of its own who will be leading the charge for qualitative broad-based education in an executive capacity. That your emergence is based primarily on merit adds color to the whole celebration.
The Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has a leadership signature of excellence through courage, equity and fairness. Professor sir, as one who is billed to lead a more ethnically diverse community, I am trusting that my Governor’s cosmopolitan approach, if adopted, will better serve the university as it will provide a peaceful atmosphere for learning and research.
Perhaps I may, on a lighter note, argue that it is not inclusive if Yagbaland would not be prominently represented in your community. May it please you, professor, to recognize the immense contributions of our sons and daughters either as counsels in the legal tussles or even as academic and non-academic members of the university. I assure you of their continued dedication.
Finally, I congratulate the university management, staff and students for this new dawn. May your search for knowledge bring our nation to its global pride of place.
