Oroke Community Celebrates Annual Cultural Day, Seeks Govt Support for Development Projects

The Oroke Community Development Association (OCDA) has called on Kogi state government to intervene in the provision of social amenities and road network in Oroke Amuro, Mopamuro local government area.

In his speech, President of OCDA, Elder Samuel T. Michael, highlighted the community’s struggles to execute self-help projects, including road construction and maintenance, school building, and market development, despite their communal efforts.

He noted that the community’s resources are insufficient to address the numerous needs, and appealed to the government to ensure a habitable environment for residents.

Elder Michael also emphasized the need for improved security architecture, requesting a well-equipped security post to address the community’s unique location.

The OCDA President expressed gratitude to invited guests for their generous donations, stating that their contributions would significantly support community development.

He also commended the efforts of Oroke sons and daughters for their contributions to the program’s success.

According to the Public Relations Officer of the association, Hon/ Samuel Obasun, the celebration aimed to raise awareness about the community’s challenges and seek support for development projects, with the OCDA seeking government intervention to transform Oroke Amuro.
