Sequel to the June 13 judgement by Justice Gabriel Kolawole of the Federal high court Abuja; Power play behind the kindergarten judgement; Edward Onoja as inconsequential politician and Echocho’s political upshot.
This post is meant to keep Kogites abreast. Especially those oblivious of Dr. Victor Adoji’s sacred political mandate.
Before June 13 2018, Kogi East federal constituency remains the only zone with case still pending in court. In a pre-election suit against senator Attai Aidoko by Air Marshall Isaac Alfa (Rtd). It was alleged that Aidoko was not properly nominated by their party (PDP). Hence was not the original winner of the December 7 2014 PDP primaries. The case which was rumored to have annulled Aidoko’s  victory sometimes ago lose weight as Aidoko still attends plenaries as well as enjoying benefits and entitlements.
However, the plaintiff (Alfa), finally experienced the sunshine of victory as Justice Gabriel Kolawole amidst political shenanigans, declared him the occupant of the Senatorial seat representing kogi east in the 8th assembly.
Political Power Play
Air Marshall Isaac Alfa’s victory was believed to have been fascinated politically by GYB.
With the game-changer himself (Edward Onoja), presiding an hysterical meeting between the governor, AM Alfa and others at the governor’s lodge, Asokoro  Abuja. Where, Alfa was said to have pledged unswerving support to GYB’s administration. First, by defecting to APC with immediate effect.
Governor Yahaya Bello on his part got persuaded by the cumbersome advantage of the loyalty, both in the 8th assembly and Kogi state. Thus, entreating the minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN) whose ascendancy prevailed on justice Gabriel Kolawole (the presiding Judge).
That was how the once no nonsense Judge (Kolawole) who was believed to have told AM Alfa plainly how poor his lawyer had been handling the case bowed to monetary pressure from Governor Yahaya Bello along side all expenses paid head-cooling trip out of the country.
But persuading the minister of Justice into the whole saga wasn’t a child play, as Yahaya Bello must convince him of Mr President’s interest in who emerge as Kogi Eastern Senator especially now that the incumbent senator is in the camp of anti Buhari senators.
Apparently, this move clarified the doom that will befall Echocho’s political career as facts revealed he may be dumped soon.
Let me take your mind back to my previous article; Dr Victor Alewo Adoji is a star in the Darkened skies where I described Mr Jibril Isah’s loyalty as “a working tool which is only sought for, on a need arise basis”. Everyone without a questionable faculty of comprehension will attest to the fact that the above clause had been justified with GYB and his Chief of staff bringing two notable figures from the same zone on loggerheads. What a Political gimmicks. But my headache is not on the formers but the laters. Let’s school ourselves further.
Edward Onoja as Inconsequential Politician
Edward Onoja’s stance in Kogi East Political misfortune and the administration which he currently serve could be seen as that of the mouth-piece of an angry gods whose strong desire was to lay the people to calamity. He knows for sure that the gods and the people are not in like terms. But his wish, even the gods cannot decline.
It is a known fact that Echocho played an active role in the wee of this administration. But his relevance was sought base on the fact that, his giant stride in grassroot mobilisation can polish GYB ahead of 2019. Hence, the so called 2017 independent day message from Edward Onoja to Kogites which actually fine-tuned Echocho, the fallacious Easter gesture in which Edward Onoja promised Igala Cultural Development Association (ICDA) a Sharon Volkswagen bus, a 33 seater coaster bus as well as renovation of ICDA house. The subsequent emergence of Echocho as the chairman of this year’s ICDA fund raising project were tactics deployed to capture Kogi East.
Having ruse Echocho into believing that he is the anointed candidate for the 8th assembly in 2019, and just when preparation is on going. The Lord of Lugard house (Yahaya Bello) and his cohort (Edward Onoja) heeded Political norms and change the blueprint. This time, to a man for whom all plans have been perfected to retrieve the symbol of authority from the incumbent senator Attai Aidoko.
As if that was not all, the mouth piece of the gods (Mr Edward), having understood the Political implications of the recent move invited both print, electronic and online journalists to his Maitama Abuja house where he declared his intentions to join the race in 2019.
What a gargantuan hullabaloo on just a golf. But the pertinent question is; who will be trust worthy enough for these sacred assignment?
The answer is simple; the decision is up to Kogites to make.
Echocho’s Political Upshot
Although, the sudden entente between the present administration and Air Marshall Isaac Alfa may not go down well. Especially now that Kogites actually know what they want. Besides, Bello chances of returning to power in 2019 stands below average regardless of what sycophants have made him to believe.
As for Mr Jibril Isah, I think the gentleman needs to go back and do his homework again. Because fingers point out the fact that he had had his fair share from Kogi politics. In September 2011, governorship ticket was tactically and cunningly withdrew from him by his benefactor, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris after working so hard for his then party (PDP).
In 2015, PDP failed to balance the political equation among it’s top shots. Hence, instead of governor Idris Wada to veer the 2015 ticket to Echocho as widely speculated, he re-contested leveraging on the power of incumbency. But behold! Not only did PDP failed woefully, captain Wada could not even secure his ward. Mr Jibril Isah on his own part was said to have drew the curtain on Kogi Politics.
However, like a megalomaniac, Echocho hopped into APC with the hope of piloting his career to a greater high. An obvious move of an inconsequential outcome. But Echocho and his handlers were not conscious of the fact. Right now, the hand writing on the wall shows he may be snubbed for the second time. Especially, now that governor Yahaya Bello’s friend cum chief of staff is vying for the same office.
My take;
The ongoing move by the governor and his Chief of staff is simply a ploy to disrupt Kogi Eastern political space. With Mr Edward also declaring intentions to join the Senatorial race. One will expect nothing less of APC Kogi where many factions especially that of GYB lobbied to hold sway ahead of 2019. But while the extravaganza unfolds, it’s imperative that Kogi Easterners gets their priorities right. Echocho should return to his root (PDP) and join hands with Dr. Adoji to form a formidable team that will accord Kogi East uncommon victory.
I do not see his political careers thrive in APC. Why? Because the party’s flag bearer (Yahaya Bello) remains the worst in the history of governance. Moreover, his actions also indicates he is not ready to make any meaningful impacts soon. Therefore, Kogites should expect plagues that will send their state parking should Bello eventually return to power in 2019.
Wait a minute. Are we governed by a Democrat or we are simply been ruled by an autocrat? Doctors whose profession remains paramount to human existence are slumping to death while on duty. As a matter of fact, plans are ongoing to replace striking doctors who simply asked for their rights using legal and diplomatic means. Civil servants in other sectors are opting for suicide mission. Even the the cabinet members are wailing profusely all to the hardship incurred from non payment of workers salaries.
Yet, the governor spent $800,000 (over N100 million) on the lesser Hajj chartering a private jet which conveyed him and his concubines to Dubai. Whereas, the common citizens were left to their fate after selecting few civil servants for just one month salary.
I pity those drumming support for this government. Because as far as an concerned, remove security and social welfare of the people and leadership will be meaningless.
Being in GYB’s camp alone has dented Echocho’s political image. Although, many opined that he will make a difference due to the fact; he emerged the youngest governor of the country. Certain uncertainties surrounded his victory. His emergence as governor broke the record in Kogi’s political book, been the first time the minority oversees affairs of the state. But reverse became the case as Kogi state is currently traumatized with various political awkwardness.
The current move by the governor and his Chief of staff is also a strong signal to those beckoning on them. In fact, this government is a disruptor. They are out to tear apart both human and social mechanisms of substantial value.
Having said this, a balanced intellectual quotient will be convinced that Dr Victor Alewo Adoji remains an outstanding candidate for this prestigious job.
I am not boastful of him. But facts and Figures have spoken beyond perceived ethnic jingoism. Thus, we are optimistic, that Kogi Eastern political fortune bears the light at the horizon.
He has distanced himself from political jobbers, rubber stamp sycophants. He understood the task ahead and has considered the Senatorial ambition as an avenue to set the record straight.
Dr. Adoji, unlike some branded individuals have ground breaking achievement to his credit. A multiple award winner in the communication world of the country’s most prestigious financial institution. A business tycoon whose financial muscles stands as the heavyweights eradicating poverty from Igalaland. A politically independent candidate who frowns at the godfatherism syndrome that had put leaders on their toes.
Adoji’s Senatorial aspiration was borne out of pressure from Kogites. NGOs and renown religious bodies, clubs and association were all bent on having at the helm of affairs. Being a man who have identified himself with the grassroot. A cheerful giver, humble and God-fearing. A technocrat with sound economic knowledge. A politically savvy and a transformer of human Destinies. An accessible and transparent individual.
Like the saying goes; There is peace when the leader leads with the fear if God. Adoji is a servant of God and a believer of His word. Unlike some rich and powerful individuals in the society, Adoji preaches salvation, practice it and had been a source of encouragement to others in their journey of faith. Despite his numerous achievement in human lives, the destiny helper (as nick-named) chose  to be silent in floating himself in the media as demanded by paid hoodwinker. Because, to him, a lot still needs to be done.
Kogites! I am honored to present this dynamic, young, vibrant and God-sent personalityto you. Not as a leader, but as servant who will guide Kogi east federal constituency to greatness and abundance.
Like the popular saying; “If you talk to a man in a language that he understands, that goes to his head. But if you talk to him in his own language, that goes to his heart.” Adoji understands his People’s language and will do exactly that which is in our heart.
Let us look beyond the hovering misery in the present politics and do our mandate for victory is sure with Dr. Victor Alewo Adoji.
God Bless Kogi East.
