This is the situation in Ebira land, since I grew up to understand the happenings till date.
The situation is so pathetic, especially during the dry season. It saddened my heart when I wake up for the mid Morning prayers, right at the frontal of my house and many houses around my vicinity that own wells or bore holes, the vulnerable people that cannot lay their hands on their personal wells or bore holes found lying down awaiting for day to be a bit bright and to start begging for water.
Till when will this condition change in Ebiraland?
I hereby use this medium to plead to the people in the hierarchy, public and private to help to rescue Ebiraland from this situation because of almighty God.
To remind ourselves and I have been saying it, sinking of bore holes is not an alternative, the only way Ebiraland can be save from this ugly situation is to just put our heads together to work on Osara Dam, Ekuku Dam, Water works, Oomi water project, Osomi water project, and the revitalization of the abandoned Late Alh Adamu Attah (the former governor of the then Kwara state) bye-water project across Kogi central. That is the only means to tackle water problem across Ebiraland.
I also urge the Executive governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello to call the attention of the Kogi Central Senator, Distinguished Senator Ahmed Saliu Ogembe, the 3 House of Representatives members; Hon. Ahmed Tijani Damisa, Hon M. K. Ajanah and Hon. Lawal of Ajaokuta, including the 6 State House of Assembly Members; Rt. Hon. Momohjimoh Lawal, Hon. Muktar Adoke, Hon. Lawi AT Ahmed, Hon AbdulKareem Kekere, Hon. Hassan Bello, Hon Gabriel Osuyi, to stop sinking of bore holes across the Central. You all should come together to discuss the way forward on how Ebira land could be ameliorated from this persistent pains and sufferings.
It is worthy to bring our heads and hearts together to pacify ourselves on this particular itching problem to be resolve once and for all. It will be in the green book of Ebira nation that during your time the major problem facing in Ebiraland was resolved.
To crown it all, His Excellency, Alh. Yahaya Adoza Bello, the ball is in your court to champion the everlasting cause, and others aforementioned should be in their solid and unflinching supports to get it right, please take note.
