I have been watching with keen interest the news circulating around at the predicament of my soon to be predecessor Senator Dino Melaye. What is happening is what I termed “the Lord will fight for me and I shall hold my peace”. A lot of person laughed at me when I saw the vision to succeed Dino as the Senator representing Kogi-west Senatorial district in the hallowed chamber come 2019.
I never knew the Lord had some other plans, while I have been working towards 2019, God almighty has been working towards 2017. I was not surprised when Sahara Reporters exhumed the issue of the non-graduation of the “beloved”, anti-corruption ‘Crusader’. Just like the Senator twitted that he saw it coming, the God which I serve also saw it coming.
The People of Kogi-west senatorial District, the people of Okunland are known to be honourable people, we will rather we resigned than allow anything to soil our name, particularly our family name. So as my people are gearing up for the possible replacement occasioned by God through Sowore, these are the reasons why I am the best candidate in equity and in law for the replacement:
Firstly, aside the fact that I was the first to indicate my interest in replacing Dino come 2019, Dino and I are from Ijumu LGA, thus it will be politically incorrect to bring someone from another constituency to complete “our” term. Let me just finish the term so that others can take their turn.
Secondly, the bane of the issue is the graduation/ non- graduation of Sen. Dino from the prestigious ABU Zaria. So since ABU Zaria is in the fore, I GRADUATED from ABU as well (true graduation/ no waiver). It will be out of place therefore to bring a candidate from O.A.U to fill our slot. This is an Abusite thing. We are going to settle it in-house.
More so, my people are known to be well educated and bright, Sowore has done a disservice to Smart Adeyemi, he should have reported this early enough. Unlike the Ekiti people, we elect the brightest to our political offices. So while Sen. Dino can go and rest now with the 1.36 CGPA and 3 carryovers, I can assure you that I was a “4 pointer” while in school and I never travelled all the way from Kogi to study ‘geography’.
Furthermore, we cannot afford to have a representative who is suffering from “great psychological and emotional trauma” and chose to go to court than hospital represent us. God forbid that his cloths are torn on the floor of the house again. I am mentally okay and Sowore has nothing on me, nothing.
Finally, I am submitting myself to the service of my people because I care. I promised to serve and not shout, I will not own cars that cannot ply our deplorable roads and will show my original certificate instead of NYSC pictures.
But in the event that you want to forgive and forget just like you forgave some of the PMB’s f9 in his WASC result, I will wait for my next appointed time, come 2019.
