When I was in JSS1 at Federal Government College Ugwolawo, Kogi State, We were taught “Leadership and qualities of a good leader” by our social studies teacher. Well, some of the qualities I believe every leader must possess are “humility” and “tolerance”.
Leaders with humility recognise that they are no better than other members of the team.
A humble leader is not self – effacing but rather tries to elevate everyone, leaders with humility also understand that their status does not make them a god.
Tolerance on the other hand is the ability or willingness to tolerate the existence of opinions or behaviour that one dislikes or disagrees with.
Unfortunately, some aides to Governor Yahaya Bello do not possess these two qualities.
Some aides to governor Bello have even gone into the fray of creating enemies for themselves instead of working hard to move the State forward and to promote their failed boss and his questionable image.
They have set up media teams just for the sake of attacking anyone who opposes the leadership style of Yahaya Bello.
They use all sorts of strategies such as blackmail, name calling, lies and rumours for no just cause. This is an ominous signs that things may get very messy if they don’t call themselves to order in the face for greed for power.
These political jobbers are only interested in their pocket and therefore throw caution and discretion to the wind in discharging their hatchet job.
They should be called to order because Kogi State is bigger than any individual or group of persons.
Sometimes one reads with concern, materials and lies they circulate on the social media like a recent one purportedly written by the self proclaimed evangelist, Kingsley Fanwo,  the director general on media and publicity to the governor of Kogi on the issue of staff verification Exercise.
They make boastful and extremely inflating comments that anyone who has a knowledge about leadership and has love for the people would never dare to make.
The truth is that most of these ill hearted aides of Yahaya Bello should go for political self- development.
They should know that being a leader must not entail spewing lies against political opponents neither should it degenerate into invoking fire and brimstone against fellow citizens who share contrary views with theirs.
My people in Kogi State are wise and discerning, there are many of them who knows the truth and cannot therefore be hoodwinked into following empty loud mouthed aides of Yahaya Bello.
They ought to know that making controversial, unfounded, malice ridden public commentaries against the people of Kogi State is not a mark of brilliance but of mischief and bad manners. As the igbos say “he who brings home ant – infested faggots should expect the visit of lizards”.
The truth is our people do not deserve this ill treatment at a time when there’s serious Hunger in the state due to the non payment of salaries to pensioners and civil servants for over 14 months by our politically irrelevant idiot of a governor.
Some of these “facebook terrorists” who live in lokoja are completely aware of the pains our people are going through in the state.
They should stop all these behaviors because they cannot make us beleive their clueless boss is working with their China made smart phones.
For instance, several times the social media has been awash with stories portraying yahaya Bello as the “digital governor”, “white lion”, “talk and do governor” and so on.
They should remember the fact that elections will not be conducted on Facebook.
The people of Kogi State are not perturbed neither are we moved because we know that God will deliver us from these Philistines and barbarians when the time comes.
