The indefatigable leader Hon. Isa Daniel (Prof), a truly upright man, defender of truth and a man of peace, graced this year’s Egbe festival in Egume, Dekina local government area of Kogi state.
According to him; “words cannot adequately express my joy and pride at being at the Egbe Festival. It is a unique privilege which I shall remember forever, and it gives me strength and courage as I dedicate my life to the service of our country. This is a wonderful day, and it is all the more wonderful because we have awaited it with increasing impatience ”.
“The purpose of festivals is to bring everything in a state of buoyancy and relieve us from the monotony of life. It is that time when we get an opportunity to link back to our roots,” he added.
“All the festivals hold a historic or an epic tale behind them. It is important to us as parents to maintain the spirit of festivity for our children. Celebrating festivals is a great way to teach your child about the culture. Knowing more about why a festival is celebrated, what its significance is, and why did we start celebrating it in the first place, can help a child understand the importance and significance of each festival, and it can be a great way to impart values to the child as well. Festivals create an environment of cultural harmony. They teach them to forget enmity and embrace one another in the bond of love. The moral, ethical, social values of life mix up with entertainment through festivals.”
Prof as he is fondly called, is a man with uncommon reasoning which never failed to yield positive results expected from the target. That is why the entire people see him as a savvy and wizard politician whose leadership qualities have not been deceptive to the masses. The fact remains that he is a politician whose watch-word of Youth Development in all ramifications is second to none.
