Political positions no doubt has become means to riches. People of no class and visible investment turn billionaires the moment they are elected into political offices.
This, without doubt, has been the reason behind politicians becoming self centered and strive to every length to get political positions and never want to leave such positions.
With the current challenges in paying civil servants dues, job creation and as well providing infrastructures, it is sad to know that some politicians receive their salaries and allowances in millions.
Data has shown that when the salaries and allowances of few politicians, when added together, the total can pay up to half a state workers salaries.
Take for instance some civil servants after working for a whole month receive little rewards while politicians go home with millions despite having same level of commitments or less.
I am appealing to Federal Government to look into these and see that politicians earn moderately. This will go a long way to control their political interests and help manage Nigeria’s spending.
Let’s support our leaders in building this great nation of ours.
