So I had planned to ‘publicly’ keep quiet on this issue until I see a confirmed Police report, and then I see the Wishy Washy Press Release from the Kogi Head of Service concerning late Edward Soje.
How does shaming him make it okay?
You’re appalled at the Media report? Unbelievable! How dare you be appalled when someone has committed suicide (alleged) and you’ve confirmed that he was indeed not paid a dime since January 2017 till date? Of course you’d take the blame. You were with him and promised him 6 months salary.
How many of such ‘unfulfilled’ promises have you given him? You found out he falsified his age when he joined service many years ago, Governor pardoned him, went on National TV to say he’s paid everyone including those he was benevolent enough to pardon and now we’re hearing those he claimed he pardoned and paid are yet to receive a dime.
Where’s the video where he confessed? They said I’ll get it tomorrow. Why not today? Why should I wait until tomorrow to probably get a ‘doctored’ tape because a Government doesn’t know that it’s easier to apologize, empathize and be sensitive to issues of this nature?
These Kogi Government people always think of shaming people rather than resolving issues. Even in his painful death, all they’re after is how to shame him. What stopped you from releasing a statement with some form of humanity and leaving it at that?
What stopped you from saying the media should allow the Police investigate the matter to be sure he committed suicide and wasn’t killed, and leave it at that?
You think telling us he falsified his age plus you have video will make us blame him at this time when he’s no more?
How old is GYB who said Nigeria is 12 years older than him? 42 or 45? Who is crucifying him for this confusion?
Shame on you all for thinking the best way out of this issue is to shame the deceased. Big shame!
And then I see some people calling the guy names for taking his life (yet to be officially confirmed). Clinical Depression is real people. Of course some of us feel he’s a weak/selfish man for taking his life but how many people with Mental Health issues have the support system they require?
NB:
Kogi State Government should redeem itself by ensuring late Edward Soje’s wife and Triplets never lack. They should be proactive enough to prevent others from going the way of the deceased. Please Pay salaries. Stop telling us you owe only one or two months. If you cannot pay salaries, come out and tell Nigerians why you can’t pay salaries. Explain to us; tell us what has happened to the bailout funds, Paris club refunds, monthly allocations and IGR.
As for Members of the Kogi State Assembly, I have no words for you guys yet. All I know is that you’re the Worst Representatives of the People.
