Since the creation of the state in the year 1991 from parts of Kwara and Benue state under the then leadership of Gen. Ibrahim Babangida rtd., the military head of state, Kogi state can’t boast of meaningful development with so much positive influence on the lives of her citizens, this could be ascribed or traced to improper leadership of past and present leaders in the state.
Kogi state, among other states has an abundant human and mineral resources believed to be an economic cynosure of the the nation viz-a-viz Itakpe iron ore, Ajaokuta steel company and the forsaken Rivers Niger and Benue having its confluence in the state capital. These are infinitesimal out of the multitudinous resources which are yet to be put into advantageous benefits of the state and nation at large due to amateurish leadership of undiscerning leaders.
The emergence of Yahaya Bello carries so many controversial inferences as some are of the opinion that his introduction was in accordance with God’s wishes, also many believe it is practically a result of the corruptible judicial system of government the masses have lost absolute confidence in. At the same time the people of the eastern part of the state were thrown into an inconsolable discomfort by virtue of their son paying the ultimate price on the altar of ensuring long awaited victory of Anebira which has been irrevocably won, exclusive of some individuals who are benefiting as a result of their sycophancy or total submission to the willingness of Bello for political gains.
The good people of Ebiraland honoured and welcomed Bello as governor-elect as a lost son found with plenty diamond and gold, it was a fulfilment of aspirational wishes of Anebira.
As fate may come in a mysterious way, the destruction of one man could certainly brought the restoration of hope for another man, victory came at a point Anebira have no better alternative left, rather a better option was to queue in their support for another who was not from the land for another four years, little wonder did the people have the knowledge that amidst your children the devilĀ  has his right hand.
God never made mistakes he sends us to exist in the world to choose our desires and work in conformity with it, same is associable to leadership, when given victory you are often left with choices to decide for which purpose you may represent. Uprightly, his emergence was divine with a choice of serving his intended purposes, either service to human of the devil, quite obvious he opted for the latter when the staff verification exercise came into being.
The government of Bello received boundless supports from Kogites on the account of high level of criminality in the civil service, a corroded system encumbered with destitution which has no doubt given rise to ghost workers syndrome so, it became clamorous for any government that has an exceptional desires for her citizens to carry out a comprehensible purification of decaying system ran in the past for effective and efficient gains of democracy. Little know it was a conspiracy of theĀ  ” new direction ” to further suck blood out injurious Kogi state that has suffered severe harm from past leaders: furthermore to victimize existing workers who underwent in-erasable stress, humiliation and fearfulness in the hands of wicked higher institution tutors, all in the name of being labeled a qualified graduate with better certificate, and at the end an accidental Governor labelled you ghost worker while your are still alive.
When small mind occupies big office he will surely reduce it to fittingly accommodate his mind.
Poor performance in the present government is as a result of his inexperienced appointees, unprofessional media aides. It came as a surprise to some persons how Petra Akinti Onyegbule misled the public on the dissolution of 21 local government administrators, and 15 commissioners, but to some eggheads who can make critical finding sussed out in earliest the show of unprofessionalism was in accordance with little or no knowledge of journalism, when you appoint a sociology graduate to head a media office, the grave mistake is comparable to requesting the service of a blind man to disseminate information.
One Nda Aron (senior special assistant on mobilization) who doubles his task as a media aide to the state government, very pugnacious and full of pride. I doubt his ability to even deliver his polling booth during election, judging from his ineptitude to know his work assigned to his office in the government house.
The sack of Adavi administrator is not a solution to leadership cryptogram in the state, what is the punishment for broadcasting wrong information to the general public? What is also the punishment for breeding thugs to disorganize an empowerment programme aimed at alleviating the sufferings of women? Is there no punishment for underdevelopment in Okene under the leadership of Engr. AbdulRazak? These are offences that call for severe punishments.
Also, Bello has chosen to be narrow-minded and that’s why he usually gets it wrong in all. His dictatorial leadership has sent fear down to the spine of of blunt and outspoken leaders in Ebiraland to call their son to order. If only there is room for criticism without intimidation, or appliance of thugs by some political loyalists, Bello would have scored his government below zero in development, and responsiveness to the plight of Kogites.
Insincerity, apprehension and political advantages and longing desire for this position on the side of Anebira are foremost reasons why this government still enjoy warm reception in the central despite poor infrastructural development in the land.
Conjointly, the government unwillingness to pay civil servants is a slab that covers the second term political ambition into the dirt pit! Therefore, construction of incomplete roads is unless, installation of substandard streetlights remains useless, what Kogi needs so dearly now is good leadership, and human upliftment and stomach infrastructure, this is an appeal to overhaul and balance your administration with competent, dedicated hands.
