I am not much of a fan of politics especially with the way our political leaders rule their people rather than serve them. This, in my view, is failure but even in this era of massive failure of this political leaders some still strive to achieve success and such is the type of Honourable Victor Adewale Omofaiye, a of member Kogi State House of Assembly representing Ijumu state constituency. He is the Chairman, House committee on works.
Politics should not just be about getting power, keeping it and using it for selfish desires rather politics must be seen and utilized as a tool to search and proffer solutions to the peoples’ problems. It is unfortunate that the earlier is what seems to go down well with most of our politicians in this era, but the few that have adopted the latter have always shined above their pairs and should be written about just so maybe the others might have a rethink, hence the need to discuss a simple and humble personality such as Hon. Victor Omofaiye.
His achievements so far even as a representative of the people at the state House of Assembly is enormous and impacts the life of his people directly talking about provision of borehole across various communities in Ijumu Kingdom, to a successful empowerment program which already have record of participants earning a good leaving out of the knowledge acquired, then to another massive empowerment program which brought to light the sharing of deep freezers, generators, grinding machines, educational materials, hair dressing machines e.t.c the list is quite long, and this program held after a town hall meeting of the people with the landed eagle – Hon. Omofaiye himself.
Hon. VAO, for short, has also shown his love for education and the youth through several scholarships he as given to students from various communities in Ijumu Kingdom not to talk of honouring student union activities invitation both in Ijumu and even at Okun at large.
A man who has done nothing except for the interest of his people at the forefront, even to the extent of willing to take criticism from people who do not know his struggle, just to ensure he puts his people at the mainstream of governance in the state, to ensure that he can continue to lobby for his peoples’ needs and have them attended to as promptly as possible.
He is a man worthy of emulation by other political leaders and a description of what leadership should be which in simpler words is to serve
