His Imperial Majesty, the ultimate Governor Yahaya Bello, please where is the balance of last monthly allocation that Kogi state received?
In a matter of day you will receive September allocation and we will quietly forget about what happened to the last allocation.
Barely two weeks ago, Kogites all over the state rejoiced when Kogi State government has announced that it received 4,247,940,959.38 Naira as statutory allocation for August 2017. In a statement issued by the Kogi State Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development, Idris Asiru, on Friday, 29th September, 2017, he said the State’s statutory allocation for the month of August is N3,338,804,988.52 as against N2,195,137,453.33 received in the month of July. According to him, the Value Added Tax (VAT) for the month of August is N909,135,970.86 as against the July figure of N855,038,409.84. The state gross statutory distributable income for the month of August is N4,247,940,959.38.
Sir, we are all aware that from this N4.2billion allocation you only paid 50% salaries to workers. We are also aware that you claimed in a recent reply to NLC that the state’s monthly wage bill is N2.6billion, that means you used just N1.3billion for salaries from the N4.2billion August allocation. We expect to see a balance of N2.9billion.
Sir, what happened to the balance of N2.9bilion??
This balance, according to your submission on wage bill can safely pay another one month full salary Sir. What happened to this balance.

For the sake of transparency, accountability and probity, kindly explain to the long-suffering masses in Kogi state what happened to the N2.9billion balance from N4.2billion August allocation. Is it in a fixed deposit for our future use? Has it been used for projects? Is it cooling off in private vaults? We demand answers Sir.
