Our civil service system in Kogi State was such that was characterized with fraudulent practices, indiscipline, laziness and unethical practices.
A system where some cashier are richer than some directors. A system where a cashier will have houses in Abuja and two in Dubai. A system where you get employed but you will never know your exact salary. A system where the dead still collect salaries and pension. A system where some civil servant don’t turn up to work for years and still get paid.
A system where no value is added by some workers yet they get paid. A system where employment is given as an appreciation for political struggle. A system where employment is given to children of Directors, Perm Secretaries and top management of ministries, agencies and parastatals without due process.
You can imagine that some of these children are still in secondary school?
A system where treasurers, DLGs, cashiers and some persons in accounts department are the owners of 70% of plazas in Lokoja. A system where before you get employed you must have an agreement with some management staff to forfeit certain percentage of your salary monthly. A system where some individual makes over 5million monthly and some Cabal makes over 400million monthly from fraudulent arrangements.
The screening is long over due but it is for the sake of our genuine faithful and God fearing Civil Servants.
Monies lost through fraudulent means will be blocked and channeled back into the system. Promotions will no longer be what you lobby for. Pensions will be automated. Allowances/Bonuses will be regular on case to case bases.
As a civil servant, you can log into the system and at a click of the button , you will see all your records. It will no longer be business as usual where until you drop, nothing for you.
Delay is not denial. You are our foundation and we cannot play with you.
Civil Service in Kogi State will be a model for Nigeria. No greatness without obstacle. Overcoming them is what makes you Great.
No Testimony without Trial. Our Civil Service is bouncing back strong, better and bigger.
