Nigeria for Sale!
Development thrives only in a productive environment and for an environment to allow such processes to flourish, the enabling atmosphere need be created. That is the responsibility of the government.
Our nation today and even before have been struggling without foundations and direction for an all inclusive growth.
As a people that have surrendered to the dictate of the constitution, by extension the sovereignty of our dearest country, we look up to the government to come up with viable blueprint capable of development in all spheres. It is expected that the masses in turn provide the manpower for the actualization of these carefully designed marshal plans whose result as anticipated, makes lives worth living.
When this happens, the citizens between the ages 25 to 65 prime in their strength shall be gainfully employed, doing one job or the other. So it has been in all the developed or developing nations of the world.
But quiet disheartening, the situation in Nigeria is the direct opposite of what is obtainable in other nations alike.
The government, both the present and past haven’t done much enough to lift us to the next stages of development. Well, to me we have not even laid the foundation yet. The political will is not there, aside being visionless, only Umar Musa Yar Adua of blessed stands out in terms ideals.
To create an enabling environment, government policies are all that is needed. We need a robust and an accessible financial institutions, a well designed agricultural policies with recourse to our areas of advantages. An economic master plan capable of boosting our local industries. A well organized security networks. Accessible road networks. A comprehensive primary healthcare system.
With the provisions of the above, every energetic Nigerian youth will surely get engaged in one vocation or the other.
But now, all these were and are not being contemplated by the government, as if we don’t really matter, as a CITIZEN.
Almost all the industries are in comatose, including the ones owned by private individuals, unfavorable policies of government have grounded them all, unnecessary tax and epileptic power supply remain their major challenges.
Despite all these glaring failures, government at all levels keep borrowing money, mortgaging our future and that of unborn generations, state govt like one in the north central, is owing workers degrees of salaries, 8,9,12,19 months as the case may be despite collecting Bail out and Paris club refund twice. That same government is going about cap in hand looking for cash to borrow. So disheartening.
At federal level, the past government borrowed, the present government borrowed and keep borrowing, despite recovered loots that amount to astonishing figures in naira, pounds and dollars.
Nigerians ran away from the past government believing that they stink with corruption and various abnormalities, to take solace under the Broom corner (the Buhari Change mantra) with the hope of a positive change only to get swindled by ikpelimakpeles donning the “white garment”.
Masses of Nigeria, I make bold to say that if you allow these cabals holding Nigeria by the jugular, they would surely suffocate her to death, we must clear eyes of the various sentiment being dangled at us and say no to the mortgaging of our future.
Say No to more loan advancement by the Federal government.
Let the government think of creating an enabling environment and make us productive rather than borrowing to turn us to consumers and debtors.
These cabals want to sell Nigeria, we must raise a voice Now!!
God bless Nigeria.
