Dear Governor Yahaya Bello,

I do not intend to bore you with my lengthy letter, rather, to condemn you for bad governance as displayed in the modus operandi of our state affairs.

Also, I will  flip through history by making a brief reference to the events that preceded your emergence as the executive governor of the state.

First and foremost, as a result of the ill treatment workers (active and ex servicemen) were subjected to in the previous administrations, most especially part payment of salaries by the Governor Idris Wada’s administration, hence, its denial of a second term by the electorate.

Furthermore, negligence of duty and misplaced priority, poor management skills, dilapidated infrastructures, incessant strike actions and many more factors too numerous to mention dealt a major blow to the downfall of the previous administration.

As a result of the foregoing, and in conjunction with the unexpected demise of Prince Abubakar Audu, you eventually emerged governor of the state through the resolve of the judiciary.

Your excellency’s emergence was greeted with unprecedented joy full of hope for a better and progressive Kogi State by natives and friends of the state. Youths and elders celebrated your victory and looked forward, hopefully to progressive changes.

Today, almost four years from the inception of your administration, it has become clear that the fulfillment of our expectation is not forthcoming. I will no doubt and rightfully say your excellency have no solution to tackle the myriad of problems bedeviling our dear state.

No state can ever attain greatness and progress in its development where there is an absence of set goals, objectives and vision on the part of the state officials; it has become explanatory and glaring that positive action by your state led government is hindered by gross incompetence. As a result of this weaknesses, the state is incurred with the hazards of survival as witnessed in the primitive societies and consequently, the state will fail.

Sir, you have brainwashed many to believe that the snail pace of your government to rescue the state and set it foots on the right path to progress is due to the damages inherited from the previous administration (s).
Although, the reason stated by you also formed a factor but, the chief reason behind your failure is due to your arrogance and lack of purpose.
The progress of the state and welfare of her people has been in a standstill and held to ransom since your inception as the governor of the state.
Your excellency have surrounded himself with people of like mind whose integrity are questionable.

The byproducts of your irresponsible government is written all over the state. Negligence of duties and the procurement government has distanced itself from her people thereby, being insensitive to the plights of common citizens, the people has lost confidence in the government.

There’s also a drastic deterioration in the state economy and increase in the prices of goods and services compared to other states in the federation.
Insecurity, poor health condition among people as the end product of hunger. Inadequate health-care facilities and poor management of those inherited from previous governments.

The state resources and treasury are once again being lavished on unproductive ventures.

Your excellency have failed in all ramifications of governance and all the events witnessed in the past four years have shown that your administration has nothing to offer if given a whole decade, therefore, its continuity cannot be justified. Hence, your sacrosanct ouster come November 16th.

Thank you for reading in between the lines of this letter of mine.
