Your Royal Majesty,
May your days be long Sir. Your enthronement held in its hands, so many signs of a King come from God, a massive embodiment of our collective peace, the custodian of our culture and fortifier of our age-old love as Igala sons and daughters, home and abroad.
Live long Oh King.
Sir, I write this letter from a heart so fiercely pierced from the battle-front of the just-concluded 2019 Presidential and National Assembly elections as it concerns the number of deaths Igala recorded and the need for a swift intervention from Your highly revered palace.
Your Royal Majesty, your sons who once broke the cola of love and unity at ceremonies have now resorted to guns at the slightest mention of politics.
They have stained our land with bloods and our good name is almost soiled.
Sir, Nigeria saw it clearly that the winner of the 2019 Presidential election was going to be a Fulani man. Our pains however is that, nobody told us that the victory of a Fulani would be bathed with the precious blood of Igala sons in whose hands we collectively awaited a future. Who has cried out on their behalf? Who has taken their agony to the palace? Who shall clean our land of stains?
Your Majesty, these questions are not for you but for my wounded heart. Today, we do not have a restorer of life but before us is an urgent call for prevention or aversion of Igala’s inhumanity to fellow Igala.
The seasonal gunshots and loss of lives in Anyigba to herald elections surely have a solution which is ours to search with utmost urgency. Our young men have been cut down in the pools of their own blood, no thanks to election or politically motivated violence.
Your Royal Majesty, this is taking the cry to your exalted Palace, our Pride of history and nativity. You are the only father with the influence of wide-spread unification for the Igala race. A single cough from your palace can convene a Sovereign Igala Conference where we can put Igala land on the table and dialogue a way forward. Our confidence in your intervention can never be eroded by violence.
Your Majesty, I may not have your email address to deliver this letter directly but it is my hope that my brothers and sisters will share it across Igala groups until someone graciously conveys it to your esteemed palace.
We await your summons on all Igala Chiefs in days to come as they in their respective domains do have shared responsibilities for the peace, unity and progress we wish for our land.
God bless you Sir and may your reign be filled with bliss and reverence.
