The ancient community of Ofabo in Ofu Local Government Area of Kogi State was filled with warmth, cultural pride, and a renewed sense of unity as the Onu Ochogu of Ogugu Kingdom, High Chief HRH Barrister I. I. Akoh (Dooooga), paid a historic solidarity visit to the palace of the Onu Ebije of Ofabo, HRH Chief Moses Okene Anawo (Ebijeee).
The visit, described by community leaders as symbolic and progressive, was aimed at strengthening bonds among the people of Ogugu while reinforcing the shared heritage and collective ownership of the revered stool of the Onu Ochogu of Ogugu Land.
Welcoming the royal guest on behalf of his family and the wider Ofabo community, Okwoli Friday expressed deep appreciation for the visit, noting that it marked an important step toward fostering unity and deeper cooperation among the various communities that make up the Ogugu Kingdom.
According to him, the presence of the Onu Ochogu in Ofabo demonstrates the spirit of inclusiveness and brotherhood that defines the traditional leadership structure of Ogugu land.
He described the visit as a moment that would yield lasting benefits for the people both at home and in the diaspora, stressing that it provides a platform for meaningful deliberations on issues affecting the community and opens the door for stronger collaboration among traditional institutions.
The host, HRH Chief Moses Okene Anawo, the Onu Ebije of Ofabo Land, was particularly commended for his visionary leadership and for creating an atmosphere that encourages dialogue, cultural pride, and development within the community. Widely regarded as a dynamic and progressive traditional ruler, his leadership has continued to inspire initiatives that promote unity and community advancement.
Elder Benjamin Ameh Abah and other observers noted that the visit clearly demonstrated that the revered stool of the Onu Ochogu of Ogugu Land belongs collectively to all the people of Ogugu Kingdom hence the to celebrate the heritage across geographical Locations. The warm reception accorded to the royal guest revealed the deep sense of shared heritage and mutual respect that binds the different quarters and families within the kingdom.
Community stakeholders also pointed out that such engagements among traditional leaders play a crucial role in strengthening peace, preserving cultural identity, and mobilizing the people toward common developmental goals.The gathering further provided an opportunity for prayers for the progress and prosperity of Ogugu Kingdom, while also encouraging stronger interpersonal relationships among the people.
Participants praised both the visiting royal father, HRH Barrister I. I. Akoh, and the host monarch, HRH Chief Moses Okene Anawo, for what they described as a visionary and progressive initiative capable of deepening harmony and reinforcing the unity of the Ogugu people.
