Kogi State Commissioner for Works and Housing, Engr. Abubakar Ohere, has expressed satisfaction with the pace of construction work on the Lokoja Ultra Modern Civic Centre.
Ohere made this known during an assessment tour of the centre in Lokoja on Thursday.
He described the quality of construction work done so far as “GYB Standard”.
“The contractor and engineers are working strictly with the approved bill of quantities for the centre. The job performance in terms of quality and timely delivery is outstanding.
“When completed, this centre will open up Lokoja for a new phase of night life.
“As you can all see, Governor Bello is more than determined and committed to bringing here the best ultra modern civil centre and other infrastructures that would provide employment to Kogites.
“This noble venture will go down in history as an epoch making event once commissioned and fully operational and all those involved will surely reap huge divine results courtesy of His Excellency, Gov. Yahaya Bello,” he said.
Ohere disclosed that Gov. Bello, in 2016, inherited a state with virtually decayed infrastructure. He attributed the infrastructure transformation in the state to sound fund management team the Governor has put together.
He said the Governor’s team is made up of experienced technocrats and accountants who have helped in the execution of projects with value for money in the state.
