The lawmaker representing Omala State Constituency in the Kogi State House of Assembly, Umar Yahaya (Connect), has congratulated the newly installed traditional ruler of Icheke Ajokpachi, His Royal Majesty, Alhaji Umoru Abuh (Umajah), following his coronation as the Ogohi Ata Igala Icheke Ajokpachi.
Hon. Yahaya, described the monarch’s emergence as timely and well deserved, noting that traditional institutions remain critical to peace, unity and development at the grassroots.
The legislator pledged his full support to the traditional council in Omala and promised to work closely with the new monarch to attract development to the area.
Hon. Yahaya commended the presence of the Ejeh of Ankpa, His Royal Highness, Dr Abubakar Sediq Ahmed Yakubu II, at the ceremony, describing it as a show of unity within the Igala traditional institution.

He equally expressed appreciation to the Atta Igala, His Royal Majesty, Alhaji Opaluwa Oguche Matthew, for approving the installation of the monarch, saying the recognition had further strengthened the cultural identity of the people of Omala.
He also disclosed that he would facilitate the completion of the community’s central mosque, following an appeal by the Chief Imam, saying the intervention was in line with his commitment to religious harmony and inclusive development.
The lawmaker used the occasion to urge his constituents to continue to support the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the federal level and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo in Kogi State, saying that sustained public support was critical to the success of ongoing reforms and development programmes. He noted that both leaders had demonstrated commitment to improving governance, strengthening the economy and delivering people-oriented projects, adding that collective cooperation from citizens would help translate government policies into tangible benefits at the grassroots.
The lawmaker reaffirmed his resolve to promote unity, preserve cultural heritage and pursue people-centred development across Omala State Constituency.
