The Executive Chairman of Yagba West Local Government Council, Hon. Tosin Olokun, has commended members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) serving in the local government for their commitment and contributions to grassroots development.
Olokun gave the commendation on Thursday during a courtesy visit by NYSC officials and corps members to his office in Odo Ere, the council’s headquarters.
He noted that the corps members had demonstrated a high sense of responsibility and dedication in executing their primary assignments and Community Development Service (CDS) activities across the local government.
“As a council, we deeply appreciate the invaluable contributions of NYSC members to education, healthcare, and other sectors in Yagba West. Their efforts are integral to the progress of our communities,” Olokun said.
To further support their efforts, the council chairman announced the allocation of a dedicated space within the local government secretariat for the corps members’ CDS meetings and other activities.
“This gesture is part of our commitment to creating a conducive environment for the corps members to thrive and effectively carry out their community development projects,” he added.
The NYSC Local Government Inspector (LGI), who led the delegation, expressed gratitude to Olokun for his continuous support and assured him of the corps members’ readiness to sustain their impactful contributions to the local government.
A corps member, who spoke on behalf of her colleagues, described the allocation of the space as a morale booster, pledging to redouble their efforts in community service.
