I give thanks to Allah my creator and the creator of the universe who spared my life longer till today to witness the ongoing unprecedented development that is currently happening in Ogidi Kingdom.
My profound appreciation goes to Gov Yahaya Bello, the constitutionally empowered custodian of authority in Kogi State as he has today regraded the stool of my ancestors to a second class status.
This singular act has justified that, Governor Yahaya Bello is a committed and highly capable democratic leader to drive Kogi State to an enviable heights among the comity of states in Nigeria.
We, as royal fathers that are saddled with the responsibilities to promote and uphold cultural values of our community, in particular, to promote sound family values.
We will continue to take measures to preserve the culture, traditions, history and heritage of our communities including sacred shrines as we usually demonstrate in our annual world standard Ogidi day festival.
Among our constitutional duties are to facilitate development; in accordance with the provisional act, to administer Communal Land and to protect the environment; to also resolve disputes amongst people in our communities in accordance with customary law; and to exercise any other functions conferred or imposed on us as enshrined in Nigerian law.
We will continue to be supportive to the reign of the noble government that has respect for the traditional rulers and brought everlasting peace to the plethora of clannish and communal disputes in the entire State by dispensing administrative justice to give birth to peaceful coexistence.
In the history of Kogi as our State, we have never been blessed with an over all Administrator to man the local governments and chieftaincy affairs like Dr Abubakar Ohere who is presently the Special Adviser to Gov Yahaya Bello on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.
He is indeed a capable hand to uphold renaissance and efficacy in all the 21 local governments in Kogi State.
The entire people of Ogidi Community appreciate his dynamic way he has favoured us in Ogidi as a Kingdom.
My appreciation also goes to Kogi State ALGON Chairman, Alh Taufiq Isa for his usual leadership qualities in Ijumu local government.
I also thank the Olujumu of Ijumu Kingdom, his royal majesty, Oba Williams Ayeni for his support for the development of Ogidi as a community and Ijumu at large.
