Frontline aspirant for the position of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Kola Ologbondiyan has assured Nigerians of all round victory for the party in the next general elections.
Ologbondiyan gave the assurance in Lokoja on Tuesday when he visited the Kogi state leadership of PDP to solicit support for his aspiration.
The media manager for former Senate President David Mark said he is the best man for the job of out of all others contesting for the position. He asked for the support of the delegates towards realising his dream.
He described the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) as a party of corruption. He recalled that when PDP held sway in the country its party men were not spared in the anti-corruption crusade.
“APC has lied to Nigerians. Nigerians have come to understand that this is not a party they can partner with. Take stock of the people who are abandoning the broom now and coming under the umbrella, the umbrella shelters you from rain and sunshine.
“Yes, some members of the PDP have been accused of malfeasance but they have not been found guilty. However, we know of some members of APC who have been accused of cutting grass with hundreds of millions of Naira but have not been arrested or tried. All we hear of is administrative investigation that came up with a report which ended up with the appointment of a first cousin of the accused person as the Secretary to Government of the Federation. This wouldn’t have happened under a PDP government. Under the PDP government, our members were arrested, tried and some were even convicted,” he said.
The party’s Deputy Chairman in Kogi, Mr. Sam Abenemi said that Ologbondiyan was qualified for the position as he would make a good spokesman for the party if given the chance.
Abenemi said the aspirant’s professional track record in the media and exploits as a Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the former Senate President, David Mark, placed him ahead of other contestants.
Ologbondiyan promised to work with other members to put the party in a good state for the 2019 general elections if elected as the new National Publicity secretary.
