Youth leaders of Olamaboro chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have described the party chairman, Adams Olofu as the best thing to have happened to the area in recent time.
In a statement signed by Idris Yakubu, the youths hailed Olofu’s dogged efforts to return the party to the path of victory in future elections.
He begged all aggrieved members and stakeholders of the party to sheath their swords and work for the collective victory of the party in 2019.
He said the goals of returning the party ‎to the helms of leadership championed by the new party chairman have started yielding results in Olamaboro area with the unprecedented support and loyalty extended to the current chairman by the women, youths, elders and stakeholders from the area.
‎The youths group called on Senator Atai Aidoko Ali to join forces with Olofu to ensure maximum success for the party. Yakubu stated that Senator Aidoko, as a ranking senator from Olamaboro, remained a great asset to the area.
“We have resolved to extend our support to Kogi East senator and the party leadership in Olamaboro having at the back of our minds that a bird at hand is more than thousands in the bush.
“What Benue, Kwara and other parts of the country had benefited in terms ‎of senate leadership and principal officers is available to Kogi East in the potentials of Senator Atai Aidoko Ali and we have resolved to re-elect him come 2019 in the interest of Igala/Bassa race.
“Senator Atai Aidoko Ali had displayed distinctive leadership qualities that should be taking to another level. As a four-time member of the National Assembly from the area, if merit is part of the corollary, Kogi East may heave a sigh of relief as he is a potential candidate for senate leadership.
Idris Yakubu urged the entire Igala-Bassa race to rally round Aidoko, rather than engaging in unprofitable political machinations and inordinate ambition to thwart the chances of Igala people.
