Dear Beloved,

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!

As Nigeria turns 58 years of age, it should be a time more for sober stock-taking; a time to count the cost and gains so far, on our journey of nationhood.

Despite our multiplicity of creed, tribe and tongue, we have, at very critical moments, summoned the grit and unity of purpose to weather severe storms and keep alight the dreams of our founding fathers, whose labours we pledge not to let be in vain.

Nigeria is set to always move forward and Kogi as a state in this Country has been moving fastidiously. Making turnouts in Nigeria which the good people of Olamaboro State Constituency is inclusive and motivating other Constituency people to be like us.

However, we should not forget the people that sacrificed for this country. Many Thousands laid down their lives so that our country would be breathing this day. The labours of our heroes should be remembered on a day like this and shouldn’t be neglected. The likes of my late dad Captain Emmanuel Ujah (rtd) who passed on 3years ago today, May his soul continue to rest in perfect peace. Amen

Independence day is a good time we examine who we are, how we got here, the government that rules us, the Representation we fought for and other things in its likes. Moreover, Let every patriot be honored and not let politics get in the way. Without them, freedom would have died; What they did, we can’t repay.

This is the day, That Our nation sings

This is the day That the liberty bell starts to ring…

This is the day We all start to remember What We stand for And to celebrate our Independence We stand up high, as We All start to cry As we think about, All that died For you, for me, for our whole country Risking there life Each & everyday here is a salute.
