Engr. Folorunsho Olafemi, PhD, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi State, has hinted that he may throw his hat into the ring for the Yagba Federal Constituency seat in the 2027 general elections.

Olafemi made this known during an online meeting with the Coalition for Progressive Change in Yagba, where he acknowledged the growing calls on him to contest and assured supporters that consultations were ongoing.

“I have been consulting widely, and I must admit that the encouragement and calls from our people are strong. While I have not made a formal declaration, I can assure you that I am seriously considering offering myself to serve Yagba in the House of Representatives come 2027,” he said.

Olafemi, an engineer and academic, said the constituency deserves “competence, vision, and political maturity” at the National Assembly. He noted that his professional background, grassroots connection, and contributions to party growth positioned him as a credible option.

The Coalition for Progressive Change in Yagba, among other groups, had earlier urged him to contest, describing his aspiration as a “people’s project.” Olafemi commended the show of support, assuring his followers that their confidence would not be misplaced if he decides to step forward.

He further appealed for unity within the APC in Yagba, stressing that togetherness and collective effort would secure victory for the party in 2027.

Olafemi, who holds a doctorate degree in Engineering, has over the years contributed to political mobilization, party organization, and community service across Kogi State.
