Kogi State House of Assembly hopeful, Hon. Elijah Atebije on Thursday won the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primaries to emerge candidate for Okura Constituency seat.
Atebije emerged candidate in a free and fair primary election which took place at N. E. A. Primary School, Egume.
The event was witnessed by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and top notch party leaders. Member, House of Representatives, Hon. Benjamin Ikani Okolo and Kogi State governorship aspirant, Mohammed Tettes were among party stalwarts that graced the primary election.
After due consultations with the delegates, Hon. Andrew stepped down for Atebije, leaving Hon. Alilu Shegun abd Atebije in the race.
Hon Elijah Atebije thanked the delegates for giving him the mandate and assured members that the party would emerge victorious come 2019 general election.
He said: “I promise to redouble my efforts to ensure adequate and effective representation of Okura Constituency.
“My capacities and capabilities in the past is my guarantee that I will never fail you.”
