Kogi State Commissioner for Finance, Alhaji Idris Asiwaju Asiru, has assured Okun people of Governor Yahaya Bello’s commitment to develop the area after years of neglect by previous administrations in the state.
Asiwaju gave this assurance while addressing the mammoth crowd that trooped out to honour him at a civic reception in Isanlu, Yagba East area of Kogi State.
He said Governor Bello’s emergence is an answer to the sincere prayers of patriotic Kogi people for God to send a visionary leader that will make Kogi fulfil her potentials. He assured the enthusiastic crowd of supporters that Okun land will witness rapid infrastuctural development under the current administration.
“Governor Yahaya Bello is God-sent to wipe our tears in Kogi State. Our years of neglect in Okunland are over”, he said.
Recalling the achievements of the 8-month old Yahaya Bello-led administrationi, Asiwaju commended Governor Bello for making Kogi state a safer placefto live in. He noted that with conscious and determined efforts, crime cases has been reduced drastically in the state, kidnappers and armed robbers are on the run. He lauded the courageous steps taken by the Governor in dealing with the hydra-headed monster called ghost workers that has kept the state in bondage for years. He also hailed the Governor for the massive roads construction and rehabilitation across the state.
Asiwaju thanked the Governor for appointing worthy sons and daughters of Okunland to work with him in his cabinet and appealed to all aggrieved politicians in the area to bury their differences and join the current administration to move the state forward.
He called on all Okun sons and daughters to support the government of Alhaji Yahaya Bello in his determined effort to develop the state.
