The Okun Youths Alliance Movement (OYA Movement) on Thursday paid a courtesy visit to the Deputy National Publicity Secretary of All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon Durosinmi Meseko to brief him on their upcoming event scheduled for February 14, 2025.
The event, according to OYA Movement, aims to reorient and sensitize Okun youth, reminding them of the core values of honesty, humility, perseverance, and hard work that have historically defined Okun people.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Hon. Oladele Nihi said the OYA Movement is focused on rekindling traditional values, foster a united sense of purpose among youths and engage in skills development and empowerment.
“The event will delve into the importance of these core values in shaping a positive and prosperous future for the Okun youth.
“The event will offer practical ways to put in place skills acquisition programs and resources aimed at empowering youth for future employment opportunities. And also foster a united sense of purpose and political harmony among the youth of Okunland, regardless of party affiliation,” he said.
The OYA Movement expressed its hope that Hon. Meseko would lend his support to this critical initiative, recognizing its potential to contribute to the socio-economic development of Okunland.
The group emphasized the importance of bridging divides and fostering cooperation among young people in the region. The event will provide a platform for dialogue and shared understanding, emphasizing the common goals and aspirations of the Okun youth.
