Okun Economic Forum, a non political and socio-economic organisation, at the weekend, presented relief materials and cash worth hundreds of thousands to some families affected by flood in Kabba, Kogi State.
Making the donation to the victims at the palace of Oba of Iyah-kabba, the group Chairman Chief J.O. Yusuf said “given the enormity of the disaster and destruction of lives and property left in its wake, Okun Economic Forum wishes to identify with the people of Kabba to assist in ameliorating the plight of victims of the flood disaster”.
“We have come to sympathize with the victims. No amount of relief can make up for what has been lost to the flood, but the gesture will bring a certain degree of comfort and succor to the families affected.
We are touched by the pains and grief the victims are passing through, which has led to the loss of lives, property and suffering”.
“The contribution is meant to complement the efforts of other donors in providing relief materials to victims of the flood disaster and resettling them as soon as possible.
“Okun Economic Forum will continue to support initiatives to improve the standard of living of Okun People especially in critical times such as this,” Yusuf said.
