Okun and Stomach Politics

My attention has been drawn by the activities of some praise singers, paid agents and stomach politicians of Okun descent, who have been parading themselves as our collective voice (Okun).

Among them are some honorable men who boasts of ten votes with a thumb; they are member of the current administration. Yet, they have nothing to show as an achievement. They have never for once represented the interest of Okun nation nor serve her purpose (s) except their pot-belly stomachs.

Chief Edward David Onoja, an Igalaman who serves as the chief of Staff to the state governor has meritoriously served and represented the Igala nation in his own capacity. I refer to him as the symbol of Igala in the current administration. Recently commissioned Igala unity house is a testimony, while the sons and daughters of Okun has been busy serving their individual interest.

Well, this is not the reason for this write up.

I beseech you oh honorable men of Okun descent, whenever you beg for those bowls of perishable porridge, do it in your respective names and not in the name of Okun. The Okunman will not beg but fight for his right. He’s intelligent and ultimately possesses the spirit of a nationalist.

Above all, stop tarnishing the image our ancestors has built over the ages with your greed and low self-esteem.

Okun is super-organic in that no individuals, regardless of his/her status or social standing is superior to our collective will.
