In what could be described as a worthy moment for Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello’s re-election bid, the political headquarters of Kogi Central, the Okene Local Government was today agog as All Progressive Congress (APC) leaders, party executives, political office holders, traditional rulers, youth and women support groups gathered at the Council secretariat to endorse his candidature for second term in office.
Speaking at the program, the convener of the meeting and the Administrator of Okene Local Government, Mallam Abdulrazaq Muhammad thanked party leaders and traditional rulers for coming out in large numbers to show support for the re-election of the Gov. Yahaya Bello.
The Council boss noted that in the last elections, Okene Local Government delivered votes for APC coming first in Kogi State and ranked 8th in the country. He assured that the feat should be doubled in the November 2nd election.
Also Speaking at the function, the Member representing Okene-Ogori/Magongo Federal Constituency, Hon. Tijani Damisa assured the people that Gov. Yahaya Bello will fly the party’s flag and of course will win again for second term.
While he urged the public to shun the rumour that APC may deny the governor party ticket, Hon. Tijani Damisa said he had had meetings with Adams Oshiomole and National Working Committee of the party who assured him of their support to Gov. Bello’s re-election bid.
The Ohi of Okene, Eganyi and Eika also pledged the supports of all traditional rulers in Okene and Ebiraland to the administration of Gov. Yahaya Bello and of course his re-election agenda.
The entire stakeholders, party structures, elected and appointed public office holders hereby endorsed Governor Bello for second term in office.
